GaggleAMP Channels make it easy for Members to find the right Activities and Posts to engage with. Channels are essentially streams that help organize the content. You can join channels that you find in the “Discover” section of your Dashboard, or you can also be invited to join Channels by your Gaggle Manager. Channels are a great way to see only the Activities and Posts that you are interested in!
Along with being able to subscribe to Channels you can also create your own. For example, you could create a channel for an event you’re attending and invite all attending teammates. This channel would serve as a central location for event-related content including pre-event announcements, during event highlights and rare networking moments, and post-event recaps. Because all of this is in one location, it makes it easy for both, Managers and Members to follow the action and provides a larger pool of event-related marketing content. Also, your Manager could potentially use your Posts and turn it into an Activity for the rest of the team to share with their social networks.
Most channels are open and always available for Members. However, with these features they don’t need to be:
Private channels - This ensures that only the Channel creator, and the invited Members, can see the channel and engage with it.
Channel Expiration - You can set up your channels to only be available for a certain period of time, like during an event or product launch.
Why Use Channels?
The primary benefit of channels is relevancy. Channels allow Members to follow topics that they are interested in and are most relevant to their social networks. Channels allow Managers a method for collecting content in an organized fashion and on topics found to produce the most effective engagement.
Creating a Channel
When in ‘My Feed’ or ‘Discover’ page and at the top of the page, click the ‘+’ next to My Channels in the left sidebar.
If you’ve scrolled beyond the top of the page, you can also create a channel by clicking ‘Create Channel’ to the left of the ‘Create Post’ button.
Once within the Create Channel slide-over, add a channel name - this is all that is required and it must be unique. Adding other details such as an image and description helps users identify and understand the channel purpose. These are displayed at the top of a channel.
To create a channel in the mobile app, open the menu, and tap the ‘+’ in the top header.
Once within the Create Channel view, add a channel name - this is all that is required and it must be unique. Adding other details such as an image and description helps users identify and understand the channel purpose. These are displayed at the top of a channel.
👍 Adding a hashtag to a Channel automatically applies this hashtag if you Gaggle a post within the channel. Continuing with the example of creating a channel for an event, you may want to add the hashtag that is tied to the event. This saves Managers a step at the activity creation stage.
