When inviting team members to your Gaggle, it’s important to express why they’ll want to participate in your employee advocacy program and what the benefits are to them. Of course, GaggleAMP does provide you with a generic template to quickly invite those that may be familiar with the program, but did you know that you can, and should, customize your invitation? Let’s take a look at how to invite new Members and where to customize your invitation — templates included!
How Do I Invite Members to My Gaggle?
From the Manager view of your Gaggle, select ‘Members’ on the top navigation bar and then ‘Invite’ on the secondary navigation bar.
From here, make note of a few key items.
First and foremost, your invitation link is exclusive to your Gaggle. When you share this link with others, they will have the opportunity to request Membership to your Gaggle. You’ll want to make a special note of this link in your own Member invitation.
Second, you’ll see that GaggleAMP does provide you with generic Member invitation text that can be copied and pasted into your email client. While the text can be modified, there are a few items we would strongly suggest you include in your Member invitation. Those include:
-
Your Invitation Link: This is an absolute necessity. Without it, no one can join your Gaggle.
-
Links to Download the App: Activities can be completed from your desktop, in third-party applications, and from our GaggleAMP app, so arm your Members with everything they need to be successful.
-
Your Gaggle Managers’ Names and Contact Information: The Gaggle Managers are the first line of communication for your Gaggle Members. While some teams may get away with saying “John is our Gaggle Manager,” don’t just assume all Members know who runs their Gaggle. Be explicit about who they can come to with questions or concerns, and how those contacts can best be reached.
Now that you have located the Gaggle Manager invite and know what is necessary to include, let’s craft some examples for different departments.

I Want to Invite Members of My Sales Team to Join the Gaggle
Before you fire off any invitations to your sales team to join your Gaggle, take a moment and put yourself in their shoes. What matters most to them and how will participating in employee advocacy help them become a stronger salesperson?
Oftentimes, the language around meeting sales goals, using social selling to book more demos, and the ease with which they can connect with their target audience works best. Each of these is relevant to the sales process and helps the salesperson recognize how quickly their sales effort can benefit from participating in an employee advocacy program.
Below is an example template we would recommend. Remember, take a moment to personalize this — it’s only a template and we’d strongly recommend speaking your company's unique language when making an ask of your team.

Hi [Invitee],
[Your Manager] mentioned the sales team has some pretty aggressive goals this year, and I know how competitive you are, so I want to help you hit your quota.
What if I told you that 78% of salespeople using social media outsell their peers and that 90% of top-performing salespeople now use social media as part of their overall sales strategy? Sounds crazy, right? I thought so too until I investigated employee advocacy. Participating in these programs enhances your professional brand and leverages your name as a thought leader, both of which help grow your connections and business.
I imagine you, like me, would like a captivated audience of potential buyers in your target audience. That’s why I’m thrilled to extend this invitation to join our GaggleAMP employee advocacy program. Becoming a Member of our Gaggle will give you the ability to quickly and easily share with your social network(s) company messaging and content curated by our team.
The extent of your GaggleAMP participation is entirely up to you! You decide what to share when to share it, and on which of your social platform accounts. We (your marketing team) do all the legwork on finding great content, so most can be shared in just one click. Leads generated by sharing content with your social network are converted 7x more frequently than other leads! But don’t worry, your privacy matters — [company name] cannot see your social media networks or your personal platforms — in fact, we only see how many Gaggle Members shared content, but not who is doing the sharing.
Joining our Gaggle only takes a few minutes and GaggleAMP will notify you whenever there is new content ready to share. To join our Gaggle, click here: [your invite link].
Be sure to download the iPhone or Android app and log in to participate on the go.
Last but not least, thank you! Employee participation in our employee advocacy program is 561% more effective than just leveraging our brand handles alone, which means we’re all going to hit our KPIs and company goals that much faster.
If you have any questions about our employee advocacy program, please reach out — I’ve included a list of our Gaggle Managers below.
Happy Selling!

I Want to Invite Members of My Marketing Team to Join the Gaggle
It’s likely your marketing team is running the employee advocacy program but that doesn’t mean everyone is familiar with social media or fully understands what’s in it for them, so be explicit about it.
Marketing teams may be composed of content writers, SEO experts, designers, and more, so explaining how this connects to their role and their department can help express why they should participate.
Here’s an example template we would recommend. Remember, take a moment to personalize this — it’s only a template and we’d strongly recommend speaking your company's unique language when making an ask of your team.
Hi [Invitee],
You may have heard that [manager name] signed GaggleAMP to help us get further reach on social media through our employee advocates, and you may be curious what that means for you. First and foremost, we’d love to have you participate in the program and become a Gaggle Member. You can join here: [your invite link] — the set-up is simple and easy and participating in the program will really help drive awareness of your content and campaigns.
Ultimately, we want to amplify our marketing efforts. Employee advocacy helps gain interest from our target audience while driving leads and traffic back to the website, and our content, through greater brand awareness. 73% of people find posts more effective and credible when shared through personal accounts than a brand handle. So, by sharing blogs, ebooks, and other content we write or promote in our personal networks, we form stronger relationships with our audience and our social posts become more effective.
Becoming a Member of our Gaggle gives you access to the company messaging and content curated by our team to share with your network. Some of these activities may even include content our team has written, landing pages we’ve developed, or simply engaging with influential partners and people, but you reap the benefits. It positions you as a thought leader with peers in our industry, helps you grow your network, and even helps position your name and expertise for professional growth opportunities to advance your career.
The extent of your GaggleAMP participation is entirely up to you! YouUsing GaggleAMP is 100% opt-in, meaning you decide what you want to share when you want to share it, and on which of your social platforms accounts. And our team does all the legwork on the activities so many can be shared in just one click. But don’t worry, your privacy matters — [company name] cannot see your social media networks or your personal platforms — in fact, we only see someone has completed an activity but not whom it is tied to.
Last but not least, thank you! Employees participating in our employee advocacy program are 561% more effective than just leveraging our brand handles alone, which means we’re all going to hit our KPIs and company goals that much faster.

I Want to Invite Members of My HR Team to Join the Gaggle
Some HR teams are going to fully support participation in an employee advocacy program and aiding in additional employee engagement, and some are going to be skeptical. It’s up to you to know your HR team and what direction they tend to lean.
The template below will stay somewhat neutral. Depending on the risk tolerance level of your HR team, there may be a need for a pre-emptive discussion around benefits and assurances prior to extending invitations to your team.
Here’s an example template we would recommend. Remember, take a moment to personalize this — it’s only a template and we’d strongly recommend speaking your company's unique language when making an ask of your team.

I Want to Invite Members of My Executive Team to Join the Gaggle
Some executives double down on social and may be the driving force behind your employee advocacy program; others are more timid, inconsistent, or shy on social so guardrails can help.
Whenever possible, get executive activation before going far and wide with your employee advocacy program. When employees see executives participating in the program, it fosters a ‘we’re all in this together' approach. And there is usually some friendly competition between executive leadership and other Members to see who can get better results, so have some fun with it.
Keep your messaging short and sweet - what’s the benefit to the company, the employees, and the north star metrics? Then, ask for participation.
Here’s an example template we would recommend. Remember, take a moment to personalize this — it’s only a template and we’d strongly recommend speaking your company's unique language when making an ask of your executive leadership team.
