Have you ever wanted your employees to share content from the company pages on a social network only to find it’s filled with roadblocks? In order to avoid having to copy/paste this content into GaggleAMP, Managers can use Content Feeds and the AutoAMP feature to automatically pull in the content and immediately convert it to an activity for their employees to perform. This automation is accomplished by leveraging three GaggleAMP features: Channels, Content Feeds, and AutoAMP.
GaggleAMP Channels organize content, making it simple to find internal posts and activities that are relevant to certain topics or Member groups.
Content Feeds make it easy for Gaggle Managers to automatically source qualified external content and pull it into the Gaggle as internal posts attributed to a Channel. A Manager can then manually create a new activity from any individual piece of internal content by clicking the ‘Send to Gaggle’ button.
But, sometimes a Gaggle Manager may want the option to automatically create Activities from content gathered via a Content Feed. This can be done by enabling AutoAMP on any new or existing Content Feed. By enabling the AutoAMP feature, the Gaggle Manager eliminates the step of sending content, post-by-post, to the Gaggle. Nothing changes in the view of the Member.
How to Integrate a new Content Feed With AutoAMP
Before you can leverage any of the AutoAMP features, you first need to integrate a Content Feed with a new or existing channel. To integrate, go to Content Feeds from the Manager view.
Here you will see any Content Feeds that have been created for your Gaggle. To integrate a new Content Feed, select ‘Integrate Content Feed’ from the upper right corner.
Upon selecting ‘Integrate Content Feed,’ determine if you want to create a new Channel from scratch or if you want to integrate this feed into an existing Channel. The set-up is the same regardless if you want the automatically sourced content added to a new channel or an existing one. The one difference being you’ll either declare the name of the new Channel or identify the existing Channel you want to connect the feed to.
Note: New Channels created during the Content Feed process are Private by default. Members not subscribed to a private channel will not have access to any of its posts or activities. Any private Channel can be set as a public Channel.
Next, you’ll choose the type of feed you want to create. Here a Gaggle Manager can create a feed by:
- Twitter User: Use this feed when you want to pull all new content from any Twitter account.
- Twitter List: Pull in any Twitter list! A few of our favorite uses include contacts on a social selling list, targets of ABM campaigns, key prospects, industry influencers, or even lists of employees, partners, and executives to engage with.
- Twitter Hashtag: Flexible for any hashtag. Use this Content feed to monitor events, branded hashtags, competitor or industry hashtags, and so much more!
- LinkedIn or Facebook Pages: Pull in all new content from your company pages to make engaging with that content even easier for your employees.
Note: To take advantage of the Pages feed, you will need to be an administrator of the LinkedIn or Facebook page to connect the pages to your feed.
- Feed: If it has an RSS feed, it can be pulled in. We love to use this for third-party content feeds, Google alerts, competitor monitoring, accessing our favorite industry blogs, and more.

For the purposes of this example, we’re connecting a LinkedIn Page but you will find that the prompts are familiar in other types of feeds.
Once the LinkedIn Page has been added, select ‘Next.’
Now you will need to determine how you want to integrate your Content Feed. With the LinkedIn Page (or other feed types) connected, you’ll have the option of enabling or disabling AutoAMP for the Content Feed.
When AutoAMP is disabled, the Content Feed will not automatically create an Activity. Instead, the content will appear as a post on the Channel. If you want to be selective about which content is converted to an Activity, disable AutoAMP and when you want to convert a post into an activity, use the ‘Send to Gaggle’ feature on the post. (See “Creating Activities From User Generated Content").
When AutoAMP is enabled, the Content Feed will automatically convert all new content to an Activity, the details of which must be configured in the exposed form
Enabling the AutoAMP feature will require you to set a few parameters.
- Activity Type: An AutoAMPed Content Feed will create one or more Activities each time new content is available on the chosen network/feed (in this instance, the GaggleAMP company page). The Activity options available include ‘Comment’, ‘Like’, ‘Share’, and ‘Reshare Post’. Selections can be removed by simply choosing the ‘x’ next to the selection type.
Note: The activity options available will vary depending on the type of Content Feed.
- For LinkedIn Content Feeds: “Comment”, “Like”, “Share”, and “Reshare Post” Activities
- For Facebook Content Feeds: “Comment” and “Like” Activities
- For Twitter Content Feeds: “Retweet” and “Like”
- For RSS Content Feeds: “LinkedIn Share,” “Facebook Share,” and “Twitter Share” Activities
- Start Time: A Gaggle Manager can choose when each automatically created Activity is sent to the Gaggle. You can select “Immediately after the content is sourced” or a specific time each day. The default is for the Activity to be created immediately after the content is sourced. Choosing the timed option will allow the Gaggle Manager to select from 48 different time combinations: on the hour or 30 minutes past the hour for every hour in the day.
- Days Active: Defaulting to 7 days, the Gaggle Manager can identify how many days they want each Activity to remain available to their Members.
- Points: Just like creating a new activity manually, a Gaggle Manager can assign 5, 10, or 15 points to be credited to any Member completing each Activity.
- Allow Members to add text before and after messages: This configuration is only available when the list of selected Activity Types includes “Share”. When enabled, Members are able to add their own text to the beginning and/or end of the Activity’s textual content.
- Maximum New Activities Per Day: A Gaggle Manager can declare the maximum number of Activities that can be created by the AutoAMPed Content Feed within the course of a single calendar day. The default setting is ten Activities, meaning that once ten Activities have been created from the AutoAMP Feed, any additional qualified content found in the same calendar day (e.g. before 11:59 pm) will be ignored.
- Send Activities to Channel: When this option is enabled, all automatically created Activities will be sent to the Content Feed’s channel. When disabled, Activities created via the AutoAMP configuration will not be affiliated with any channel.
Select ‘Next’ when you are happy with all the content feed settings.
If this Content Feed is being integrated with a new Channel, you will see a prompt to create the Channel, which includes cover images, Channel name, descriptions, hashtags (if applicable), and the ability to set start and end times for the Channel. Lastly, a Channel can be set to public or private.

Once you are happy with your Content FSS11eed, select ‘Update Channel.’ Your feed will appear in the Content Feed grid.
How Do I See the Status of a Content Feed?
From within the Content Feeds grid, Gaggle Managers can quickly see the current status of the Feed.
The ‘Status’ column defines whether a Content Feed is Enabled or Disabled. A Disabled Content Feed will not look for or pull content into the Gaggle. A Content Feed that is Enabled will check for, gather, and process content per its configurations.
You can Enable and Disable the Status by selecting the three dots on a feed and selecting either Enable or Disable, depending on your present setting.
How Do I See if a Content Feed Will Automatically Create Activities?
The ‘AutoAMP’ column shows whether or not the record is an AutoAMP Content Feed. When the AutoAMP column displays ‘No’', an internal post will be created with all newly available content. When the AutoAMP column displays ‘Yes’, the sourced content will be automatically turned into an Activity per the AutoAMP configurations.
How Do I Edit an Existing Content Feed’s Configurations?
Certain details of any existing Content Feed can be edited. Simply select the three dots on the Feed you want to edit and select ‘Edit.
Choosing the ‘Edit’ option allows the Manager to edit the existing Content Feeds AutoAMP-related configurations.
Some items cannot be edited once a Content Feed has been created because of how it is connected to the platform. The elements that cannot be edited include the source platform (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, or Feed), the source user/page/tag (e.g. the company page attached to LinkedIn), and the Channel to which all gathered content will be associated. If you need to make changes to these structural pieces, you’ll need to delete the relevant Content Feed and create a brand new one.
The ability to set up Content Feeds and AutoAMP can only be done on a Desktop device.
Frequently Asked Questions:
When someone uses AutoAMP, what time zone does the AutoAMP’ed Activity recognize?
Since AutoAMP appears in a Content Feed, the activity will execute based on the time zone of the person who set up the Content Feed. For example, if the Content Feed creator lives in California, all activities that are AutoAMP’ed will execute based on the PST time zone regardless of where other Members reside.
If I AutoAMP some LinkedIn content, is a LinkedIn ‘Share’ Activity created or a LinkedIn ‘ReShare’?
If the content sourced by AutoAMP contains a presentation file or other similar media, GaggleAMP creates a LinkedIn ‘ReShare’ Activity. If the sourced content does not contain that special media, then GaggleAMP creates a LinkedIn ‘Share’ Activity. Embedded photos and videos result in LinkedIn ‘Share’ Activities.
