How do I connect marketing automation to my Gaggle?

Follow
This article refers to GaggleAMP Classic, a deprecated version of the platform. If you're looking for articles for newer versions of the platform, please refer to the GaggleAMP Managers section.
GaggleAMP now offers integration with your popular marketing automation systems to give you full closed loop reporting from a social media message all the way down to a lead or even a sale. Once this integration is setup, GaggleAMP will automatically add tracking information to every shortened link that is shared from your Gaggle(s). This information includes the message text that the link is contained in, the associated GaggleAMP campaign name, the social network the message was shared on, and the name of the Gaggle from which the message originated. The tracking information is passed in the form of a URL query string. By default, GaggleAMP is configured to use Google’s standard campaign parameters.

The values added to each of these parameters is as follows:
  • Campaign Source (utm_source): Originating Gaggle Name
  • Campaign Medium (utm_medium): Social Network
  • Campaign Name (utm_campaign): GaggleAMP Campaign Name
  • Campaign Content (utm_content): Message Text
To enable your marketing automation solution, click on "Integrations" on the sidebar on your left, under "Manage".

Once on the “Integration” page, select the marketing automation solution from the “Connect Marketing Automation” dropdown, then click “Update Integrations”.

If you setup your marketing automation solution to track these “utm” parameters, then you do not need to do any additional configuration in GaggleAMP, as your marketing automation solution configuration matches the default configuration (Google’s). If your marketing automation solution landing pages are setup to track a different set of parameters, you can customize GaggleAMP’s tracking to match those parameters.

You will now see an option for “Custom Lead Source Parameters”.

Follow the “Edit Parameters” link and you will be taken to a page where you can provide the custom parameter names. Once you update the parameter names, be sure to click on the "Update Parameter Names" button.

Once you’ve completed the setup process (or decided to use the default configuration), you’re leading tracking integration is complete! To test it, share a message through your Gaggle with a link to a landing page that is powered by your marketing automation solution. Then, have a few friends or followers click the link and submit themselves as leads.
