Slack Integration

This article refers to GaggleAMP Classic, a deprecated version of the platform. If you're looking for articles for newer versions of the platform, please refer to the Marketing Integrations section.

GaggleAMP’s Slack integration makes it even easier for Gaggle Members to receive notifications of new content and to share content to their networks. Members will have the ability to customize how frequently they receive notifications and can even schedule content directly from the Slack app.

Setting up the Slack integration for your Gaggle starts in the “Integrations” page of your Manager Dashboard. To start the integration process, click the “Link Slack Account” button found at the bottom of the “Integrations” page.

By clicking the button you will be brought to the Slack authorization page. To move forward in the integration please click “Authorize”.

Note: In your instance, it will say “On <YourCompanyName>, GaggleAMP would like to"

After clicking “Authorize” the Slack integration is available in your Gaggle. The GaggleAMP Integration will appear under the "Apps" section of the Slack Channels list. Members will now be able to direct message the integration to sign into GaggleAMP. Once they sign in they will receive instructions on how to change their notification frequency and how to share via Slack.

Additional Information:

  • The Slack integration only shows Activities that can be shared via an API with no Member-provided content. Essentially, the Activity needs to be completed with one-click for it to show up in the Slack integration. For example, Twitter Retweet or LinkedIn Share will appear in Slack, but other Activities like Twitter Share Link or Like on LinkedIn will not. For these other activity types, a short message will appear informing the user that they will need to access their Dashboard to perform the Activity. The message will include a link directly to their Dashboard to complete the activity.
  • If a Member views an Activity (even if it is not shared) on the Member Dashboard or Mobile App, then the Slack notification will not be sent for those Activities.
  • The notification settings for Slack can be set to hourly, daily, or weekly. Members can change their settings by DM'ing "Show Settings" to the GaggleAMP bot. The notifications are sent on the same schedule as our email notifications:
    • Hourly -Top of the hour
    • Daily - 5 pm Eastern
    • Weekly - Tuesday at 4 pm Eastern

If you have any additional questions about the integration setup please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
